Ebusiness consultants to hold expo on cashless payments in Africa

Nigerian ebusiness consultants Intermarc Consultants are to hold an expo in Lagos on the subject of cashless payments across Africa, with a particular emphasis on epayments.

The CBN Cashless Card Expo will be held 14-16 June 2016 at the Eko Hotels and Suites on Victoria Island. The slogan will be “The Future is Ecommerce.”

This will be the sixteenth such expo. Starting as a small conference, it has now grown to become Africa’s biggest and longest-running ebusiness expo., attracting over 3000 visitors per year from all over the globe, most from Africa but some from the USA, China and Europe.

The theme of this year’s expo will be “Innovation: The Future of Epayment”. Platinum sponsors include the Nigerian online mall Konga, Visa credit and debit cards, and Heritage Bank. Gold sponsors include Fidelity Bank and SecureID, while silver sponsors include Etranzact, Unity Bank, Global Accelerex, Nexgo and Skye Bank.

The expo is aimed at CEOs, Commercial Directors and other business decision makers. In 2015, the biggest sectors attending were government, aviation, oil and gas, and finance.

Intermarc Consulting, which runs the event, is an ebusiness consulting firm providing solutions to businesses in the area of ebanking and epayments. Its corporate social responsibility project “Coalition for Epayment” is helped at bringing ecommerce to small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria. The company lists its strategic goals as “to create and promote a viable market for electronic payment in the Nigerian economy in the first instance, and ultimately to collaborate with first class international institutions in Cards and Payment in elevating the quality of e-products and e-services offered in Africa.”
