- The Okendo platform has significant adoption and a loyal customer following among high-performance Shopify retailers. After recently securing our first round of investment, we’re doubling down on our early success by growing our team, launching a number of new and innovative features, and scaling customer acquisition.
- This role will provide a forward-thinking and passionate Back-End Developer with the opportunity to be a part of a team dedicated to developing products with intuitive design and beautiful code.
- What will I be responsible for?
- The role is yours to make. We’re growing the team and we need a motivated developer to integrate with our team to build an awesome user experience across the Okendo platform.

- (2) You’ll take ownership of the back-end ensuring our software is scalable, elegant, and performant.
- (3) You’ll participate in software architecture and product planning sessions.
- (4) You’ll work with a knowledgeable and experienced team to rapidly iterate new development while improving the current systems.
- What does our tech stack look like?
- We’re built on AWS, and our back-end is powered by Lambda and DynamoDB (we have a serverless architecture). We have a close integration with Shopify through APIs in the back-end and Shopify liquid templates on the front-end.
- The JavaScript embedded in our client stores is as lean as possible to ensure high-performance loading. Our app administration area is written in Angular.
- We bundle with Webpack. We take our JavaScript to the next level with TypeScript & Vue.js, and VS Code is our editor-of-choice.
- What experience and qualifications do I need?
- You should have proven experience working with an object-oriented programming language, with a background using Node.js, Typescript, and Vue.js being a major plus. You should be familiar with software architecture and have a good understanding of the software development lifecycle. Being familiar with Cloud platforms is also beneficial.
- Working with API’s, querying databases, and writing elegant code should all come naturally to you,
- What are the benefits?
- (1) Significant career opportunity for an enthusiastic developer ready to join a proven, high-growth tech startup at the relatively early stage.
- (2) Competitive salary and meaningful equity.
- (3) Opportunity to travel with annual company-wide excursions.
- (4) Joining an experienced, talented, and highly motivated team.
- (5) MacBook Pros are our standard, but we’re happy to get you whatever equipment you need.
- (6) Work in a great location, a stone's throw away from Martin Place and Wynyard Stations, at WeWork (333 George Street) - A hub for Sydney’s tech start-ups with some great perks.
- (7) Exposure to the best e-commerce brands globally and the rapidly growing Shopify ecosystem.
- (8) Attendance to tech events and ongoing support for industry training and skill development.
