- We are seeking a strategic and analytically minded Director of Product Marketing, Customer & Market Insights to build and lead our Voice of the Market function. This leader will own the programs, processes, and intelligence systems that help us deeply understand customers, competitors, analysts, and market dynamics—and translate those insights into winning positioning, messaging, thought leadership, product strategy, and go-to-market execution.
- This role will serve as the connective tissue between Product Marketing, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership, ensuring that decisions are informed by real customer needs and evolving market conditions.
- The ideal candidate combines traditional market intelligence expertise with a modern AI-first approach, leveraging technologies such as Gong, Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI-powered research tools to scale insight generation and uncover strategic opportunities.
- This role will initially manage one direct report, a Senior Product Marketing Manager focused on Competitive Intelligence, with the opportunity to build a broader insights organization over time.
- What You’ll Accomplish
- Build and Lead the Voice of the Market Program
- Establish and scale a company-wide Voice of the Market strategy that captures customer, prospect, partner, analyst, and industry insights.
- Develop systematic approaches to collecting, synthesizing, and operationalizing customer feedback.
- Create repeatable programs that ensure customer and market insights directly influence product strategy, positioning, messaging, and GTM priorities.
- Serve as the organization's expert on customer needs, buying behavior, market trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Own Customer Insights and Research
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research programs, including customer interviews, win/loss analysis, surveys, advisory boards, and market studies.
- Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Sales to identify evolving customer needs and unmet opportunities.
- Develop customer segmentation, buyer insights, and market understanding that inform product and GTM strategy.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead Analyst Relations
- Develop and execute the company's analyst relations strategy.
- Build trusted relationships with key industry analysts and influencers.
- Manage analyst briefings, inquiries, reports, and strategic engagements.
- Ensure analyst perspectives are incorporated into product strategy, positioning, and executive planning.
- Partner with Communications and Marketing to maximize analyst coverage and market credibility.
- Drive Competitive Intelligence Strategy
- Own the overall competitive intelligence vision and program.
- Lead and mentor the Senior PMM responsible for day-to-day competitive intelligence execution.
- Build scalable systems for tracking competitor strategy, product launches, messaging, pricing, partnerships, and market movements.
- Deliver competitive insights that inform sales enablement, product roadmap decisions, and executive planning.
- Develop executive-ready competitive assessments and strategic recommendations.
- Build an AI-Powered Market Intelligence Function
- Leverage AI tools such as Gong, Claude, ChatGPT, and emerging technologies to automate insight collection, analysis, synthesis, and reporting.
- Create scalable systems that transform customer conversations, analyst feedback, market research, and competitive signals into actionable intelligence.
- Partner with Operations and Revenue teams to develop modern workflows that surface insights in real time.
- Continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies to increase the speed and quality of market intelligence.
- Influence Positioning, Messaging, and Thought Leadership
- Partner with Product Marketing leaders to translate market insights into differentiated positioning and messaging.
- Identify emerging trends and market shifts that create opportunities for thought leadership.
- Help shape executive narratives, category creation strategies, and market education efforts.
- Provide insight-driven recommendations that strengthen the company's market position and competitive advantage.
- Your Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Market Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, Analyst Relations, Strategy, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience building customer insights, market intelligence, or Voice of the Customer/Market programs from the ground up.
- Strong background in analyst relations and managing relationships with industry analysts.
- Experience leading competitive intelligence initiatives that drive measurable business impact.
- Demonstrated success influencing executive decision-making through research and strategic insights.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing team members.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect disparate signals into strategic recommendations.
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools such as Gong, Claude, ChatGPT, and related technologies to accelerate research and insight generation.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B SaaS, commerce, marketing technology, or enterprise software.
- Background in category creation, market development, or thought leadership initiatives.
- Familiarity with modern research, intelligence, and analytics platforms.
- Experience supporting executive teams, board-level discussions, and strategic planning processes.

- For US based applicants:
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $210,000 annually + equity + benefits
