  • **JOB SUMMARY**
  • TechCycle Solutions gives electronics a second life. The E-Commerce Marketplace Manager owns how that inventory reaches buyers — managing our listings, pricing, and performance across eBay, Swappa, Mercari, Vinted, Poshmark, and additional marketplaces as we expand.
  • This is a selling role first. You decide what gets listed, where it gets listed, how it is priced, and how it is presented. You watch what sells, what sits, and what comes back, and you adjust. Success is measured in sell-through, margin, and turn rate.
  • You will work closely with the refurbishment and warehouse teams and will pitch in on processing, staging, and inventory management when volume demands it. Technical repair experience is welcome but not required — what matters is that you can learn the product well enough to describe and price it accurately, and that you know how to move inventory online.
  • **ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
  • **Marketplace & Listing Management**
  • ▪ Own listings end to end across eBay, Swappa, Mercari, Vinted, Poshmark, and additional marketplaces as they are added.
  • ▪ Create accurate, compelling titles, descriptions, specifications, and condition disclosures for every listing.
  • ▪ Direct and capture product photography that represents condition honestly and converts browsers into buyers.
  • ▪ Decide which inventory is listed on which channel based on category fit, fee structure, audience, and expected sell-through.
  • ▪ Keep listing data, quantities, and availability accurate and in sync across every active channel.
  • ▪ Evaluate and launch new sales channels, including live-selling platforms, where they expand reach or improve margin.
  • **Pricing & Merchandising**
  • ▪ Set and adjust pricing using market comps, margin targets, inventory age, and seasonality.
  • ▪ Manage promotions, markdowns, offers, and bundles to move aging or slow inventory.
  • ▪ Monitor competitor pricing and marketplace conditions and respond quickly to shifts.
  • ▪ Plan listing cadence and merchandising around demand cycles, holidays, and new-model release timing.
  • **Performance & Reporting**
  • ▪ Track and report on channel performance — sell-through rate, average order value, conversion, return rate, aging, and margin.
  • ▪ Reallocate inventory to the channels and formats where it performs best.
  • ▪ Generate regular performance reports and recommendations for management review.
  • ▪ Identify which product categories and sourcing decisions produce the best returns, and feed that back to procurement.
  • **Buyer Experience & Account Health**
  • ▪ Manage buyer messages, offers, disputes, returns, and refunds with clear, professional communication.
  • ▪ Protect seller ratings, defect rates, and account standing on every marketplace.
  • ▪ Investigate returns, item-not-as-described claims, and negative feedback, and close the loop on root causes with the refurbishment team.
  • ▪ Coordinate with fulfillment to ensure orders ship accurately and on time.
  • **Inventory & Operations Support**
  • ▪ Partner with the refurbishment and warehouse teams to prioritize which units are processed and listed first.
  • ▪ Assist with intake, processing, staging, and physical inventory management as volume requires.
  • ▪ Help maintain inventory accuracy between the physical floor, the ERP, and live marketplace listings.
  • ▪ Provide direction to assistants supporting listing creation, photography, and order prep.
  • **Process Improvement**
  • ▪ Continuously improve listing, pricing, and fulfillment workflows for speed and consistency.
  • ▪ Build playbooks and SOPs so the operation scales without depending on any one person.
  • ▪ Use AI tools to streamline listing creation, customer responses, data analysis, and reporting.
  • ▪ Maintain organized records of listing activity, pricing decisions, and channel performance.
  • **COMPETENCIES / SKILLS / ABILITIES**
  • ▪ Proven online selling ability. You have listed, priced, and sold real inventory on real marketplaces and can speak to what worked.
  • ▪ Commercially minded. You understand margin, comps, fees, and turn rate, and you make pricing decisions with all of them in view.
  • ▪ Strong written communication. Your listing copy is clear and accurate, and your buyer messages defuse rather than escalate.
  • ▪ AI-native. You actively use ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools to draft listings, automate workflows, summarize data, and move faster. If AI is not already part of your daily work, this role is not the right fit.
  • ▪ Comfortable with consumer electronics. You do not need to repair them, but you do need to learn specs, conditions, and value quickly and describe them credibly.
  • ▪ Operationally sharp. You think in checklists, calendars, and systems, and you can juggle listings, inventory, and orders without losing the thread.
  • ▪ Data-comfortable. You can work in spreadsheets, read a performance report, and act on what it tells you.
  • ▪ Customer-obsessed. You care about the buyer experience and protect the company reputation on every platform.
  • ▪ Self-directed. You see what needs to happen and make it happen without waiting to be told.
  • ▪ Detail-oriented and organized, with a willingness to work on the floor when the operation needs it.
  • **REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
  • ▪High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or commensurate work experience preferred.
  • ▪Demonstrated experience selling on eBay, Swappa, Mercari, Poshmark, Amazon, or comparable online marketplaces — whether for an employer or your own operation.
  • ▪Experience creating listings, setting prices, and managing buyer communication at volume.
  • ▪Solid computer skills, including spreadsheets and listing or inventory tools.
  • **PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
  • ▪Background in ITAD, electronics resale, refurbished tech, or e-commerce operations.
  • ▪Familiarity with consumer electronics — smartphones, tablets, laptops, and accessories.
  • ▪Experience with multi-channel listing software or inventory management systems.
  • ▪Previous experience with ERP systems.
  • ▪Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • ▪Experience with live commerce platforms such as Whatnot, TikTok Shop, or eBay Live.
  • ▪Product photography, lighting, or content production skills.
  • ▪Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • **WORK ENVIRONMENT**
  • Work is performed on-site in a combination of office and warehouse/production settings. The role requires regular movement across the facility, handling of electronic devices and packaging, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. There is little to no exposure to extreme environmental conditions or job hazards.
  • **SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION**
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility on start time. Occasional evenings and weekends as required by business demands.
  • $50,000 – $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
