- ☕ P&R coffee delivered to your place every month
- 💡Work somewhere that genuinely values their Team, doing things differently, using tech and innovation and delicious coffee to change the world!
- Oh, and we get the team together each year in the Philippines for an epic gathering!
- **A little about you**
- You’re the kind of person who notices when a product page is almost right, but not quite.
- A banner is slightly off. A mobile layout could convert better. A promo flag has not been updated. A landing page could be cleaner, faster, sharper. You spot it, you fix it, or you find a smarter way to make sure it does not become a recurring problem.
- You know Shopify (inside and out). Not just “
- *I can update a product description*
- ”… But “
- *I can get into the theme, understand what is going on, and build or improve a page using Liquid, HTML and CSS*
- ”. You have a practical eye for UX, layout, hierarchy and mobile experience, and you care about whether the online store is easy to use, accurate, on-brand and performing properly.
- You’re organised, curious and detail-driven, not someone who wants to spend their days doing the same manual audit over and over again. You like building templates, SOPs, better ways of working and simple automations that make the job cleaner and easier next time. Work smarter, not harder. And yes, AI is a tool, not a threat when you know how to use it well. And your favourite time of year is when Shopify drop their seasonal updates. You’re quickly thinking about the application of the updates and if it aligns with our strategy and mission!
- Most importantly, you care about doing good work with great people. You’re happy working with cross functional Team Operations, Marketing, Design and Customer Support. You’re confident turning numbers, feedback and site performance into clear recommendations people can actually act on.
- **About us**
- Pablo & Rusty’s Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roaster based in Sydney, Australia. We’re a proud B Corp, Carbon Neutral Certified, and 1% for the Planet members meaning we give 1% of our revenue (not profit) to environmental partners. We’re 100% committed to using business as a force for good.
- Our mission is to positively impact people and the planet through coffee. We source specialty coffee, roast with care, support cafe partners, and help more people Drink Better Coffee™ at home, at work and beyond.
- We are digital, design-centric and sustainability-led. We have high expectations, we move quickly, and we are always looking for ways to improve how we work. We strongly believe that if we are not spending at least 10% of our time innovating, we will not succeed.
- **About the role**
- This is first and foremost an e-commerce role. We’re looking for an E-commerce Specialist with strong Shopify build capability, someone who understands how to improve the performance, accuracy and customer experience of an online store. Shopify build skills are important, but they’re only one part of the role.
- This is a hands-on Shopify role with a strong mix of platform build, content updates, campaign support, reporting and catalogue accuracy. You’ll help keep the store clean, current and easy to use, while also building custom landing pages, supporting promotional campaigns, maintaining product information, and helping stakeholders understand what is working online and what needs to improve.
- This is not a role for someone who only wants to pass tasks on to developers or rely entirely on page-builder apps. We need someone who is comfortable getting into Shopify, working with themes, building properly, testing carefully and using good judgement.
- Okay, you’re mid way through this ad, congrats but to help ensure you’re not just using AI tools to skim the job post, make sure you include “
- *Buy Better Coffee Online”*
- in your application subject line.
- You’ll work closely with Operations, Marketing, Design and Customer Support to make sure the online store is accurate, on-brand, commercially useful and improving over time.
- **A few things you’ll be across**
- Owning Shopify theme customisation, including hands-on use of Liquid, HTML and CSS
- Building and maintaining sections, templates and custom landing pages
- Keeping the Online Store 2.0 structure and theme configuration clean, current and easy for others to use
- Applying practical UX and conversion judgement to page layout, hierarchy and mobile experience
- Managing website content, including homepage, category pages, landing pages, promo flags, navigation and seasonal campaign content
- Working closely with the Marketing team to execute the promotional calendar as it relates to e-com outputs.
- Setting up and testing promotions in line with planned campaign activity
- Coordinating assets for new product launches, sales, campaigns and e-commerce changes with Design, Marketing and the wider team
- Supporting end-to-end online e-commerce projects, from stakeholder briefing through to testing
- Providing real-time and monthly reporting on campaign, product and site performance
- Translating reporting into clear, useful recommendations, not just sending raw numbers
- Maintaining sources of truth for performance data that stakeholders can reference directly
- Monitoring stock and maintaining accurate catalogue information
- Auditing the site and assets to make sure all available products are live, current and accurate
- Supporting and optimising subscription operations through Recharge
- Building SOPs, templates and automation where possible to reduce manual catalogue and audit work over time
- **What you’ll bring**
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar Shopify-focused e-commerce role
- Advanced Shopify experience, including hands-on theme customisation with Liquid, HTML and CSS
- Confidence building custom landing pages and templates without relying only on third-party page-builder apps
- Practical UX and conversion design sense, especially around layout, hierarchy and mobile experience
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working with stakeholders across Customer Support, Design, Marketing and Operations
- Ability to turn data and reporting into clear, practical recommendations
- Comfortable working independently across time zones, while still being part of a collaborative team
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 systems, tools and a willingness to learn new apps, plugins and systems. Bonus points if you’ve got Microsoft Business Central experience.
- A continuous improvement mindset, you notice repetitive work and look for better ways to get it done
- **Highly regarded**
- Experience with Recharge or a comparable subscription app
- Experience with Yotpo or a comparable rewards app
- Experience with Shopify Plus, including Plus migration experience
- Familiarity with Figma or a similar design/collaboration tool
- Experience in online coffee, food and beverage, retail, subscription, or multi-channel e-commerce (including Amazon, TikTok Shop, Google Shopping)
- Experience using AI or automation tools to improve workflows and reduce manual effort
- **What success looks like**
- The online store is accurate, organised, current and easy to manage
- Product catalogue data is clean, reliable and well maintained
- Campaigns and assets are turned around within agreed timelines
- Promotions are uploaded, tested and launched accurately
- Reporting leads to clear recommendations and better decisions
- Manual audit effort reduces over time through SOPs, templates or automation
- Stakeholders have confidence in the store, the data and the way campaign work is coordinated
- You help make the e-commerce function smarter, cleaner, more scalable over time and ultimately a more profitable channel
- **What’s in it for you**
- First up: we want this role to be one of the best jobs you’ve ever had. That is our commitment to everyone in our team.
- That does not mean the work will always be easy. It will be detailed, fast-moving and sometimes full of competing priorities. But it will also be rewarding. You’ll be working with a team that genuinely cares about our mission, our customers, our impact, and each other.
- You’ll have the chance to grow your skills, improve systems, work on meaningful e-commerce projects, and help a purpose-led coffee brand keep building a better online experience. This role will be part of our growing e-com Team.
- We offer a generous package, Quarterly Performance bonus after probation, HMO Program after one year of tenure, Volunteer and Training Leave, Philippine Public Holidays converted to Annual Leave credits, access to ongoing learning and development, and an Employee Assistance Program.
- And importantly, you’ll get P&R coffee delivered directly to your place every month.
- **Work schedule**
- This is a full-time independent contractor role, 40 hours per week.
- The role is remote and based offshore, with working hours to overlap with Sydney business hours Monday to Friday,
Aest/aedt
- Specific hours will be agreed based on business needs.
- **Sounds like your kind of role?**
- Send us your resume and cover letter (Resume without cover letters won’t be considered), plus:
- 1. A link to one live Shopify store you’ve personally built or theme-customised (yours, a client’s, or an employer’s), with a sentence or two on one specific section or page you built using Liquid, HTML or CSS, and why you built it that way.
- 2. One thing you’d change on pabloandrustys.com right now, why and how you’d actually build that change in Shopify.
- Let’s make great coffee easier to find, buy and enjoy. ☕
