As our Specialist eCommerce Engineer, you’ll help bring ideas to life across our Shopify environment — keeping our digital storefronts running smoothly while making them better, faster and smarter. You’ll be part of a team that’s growing its in‑house capability and creating space for new thinking, new skills and new ways of delivering for our Hubs. This is a permanent full-time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).
- **Ngā Mahi Hei Whakatutuki Māu | What You'll Do**
- Maintain, enhance and optimise our eCommerce platforms and supporting web applications to ensure reliable, high‑performing customer experiences.
- Develop responsive front‑end solutions using web technologies such as React, Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, to support clear and intuitive user journeys
- Build and support API‑based integrations between web applications and systems like ServiceNow to enable smooth fulfilment and service workflows.
- Implement new features, Shopify apps, React components and third‑party integrations while ensuring compatibility across our digital ecosystem.
- Monitor platform and application performance, identify issues and troubleshoot across front‑end and integration layers.
- Partner with marketing, product, operations and technology teams to translate business needs into scalable eCommerce and web application solutions.
- Support discovery and early scoping for new services and enhancements introduced into the Hubs eCommerce and web application environment.
- **Ōu Pūkenga me ōu Wheako | What You'll Bring**
- Experience developing and maintaining Shopify platforms, including themes, configuration and optimisation.
- Strong front‑end development capability across HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Shopify Liquid.
- Confidence working with API‑based integrations and solving integration challenges across multiple systems.
- Understanding of eCommerce best practice, including UX, SEO and conversion optimisation.
- Ability to break down technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders and collaborate openly with cross‑functional teams.
- Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn new technologies and improve how we work.
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST APIs, workflows or webhooks) is great to have but not essential.
