ProximityReader is Apple's iOS framework that turns an iPhone into a contactless payment terminal, letting native app developers accept Tap to Pay, read loyalty cards via VAS, queue Store and Forward transactions offline, and verify ID documents through NFC. Intended for ecommerce and retail engineering teams building their own checkout apps rather than relying on a Stripe, Adyen, or Square SDK wrapper for in-person acceptance.
