- **Ecommerce Marketing Specialist**
- $30–$34/hour | Full-time (40 hours/week) | Primarily remote within the San Diego area
- **About the Role**
- Innovation Ethos creates and operates its own consumer product brands and helps other product companies develop, launch, and grow theirs. Our work spans the full product lifecycle—from invention, design, and manufacturing through the websites, marketplaces, and marketing that bring products to customers. At every stage, we care about thoughtful execution, close attention to detail, and results we’re proud to stand behind
- We’re looking for an Ecommerce Marketing Specialist to work directly with the owner across our in-house brands and client accounts. You’ll have real responsibility from the start and the chance to combine creative work with analytical thinking across many areas of ecommerce marketing. This is a good fit for someone who likes to learn, experiment, improve what is already working, and see the results of their work.
- **What You’ll Do**
- This is a varied, hands-on position rather than a narrowly defined single-channel role. Depending on the day, you might improve an ecommerce product page, plan an organic social campaign, capture and edit video, launch and analyze paid ads, research Amazon keywords, or investigate a new partnership or market opportunity.
- You don’t need to arrive as an expert in every area. We’ll start with your existing strengths and help you build skills and take on responsibility in additional areas, including:
- Build and enhance ecommerce websites and social commerce channels, improving page layouts, product content, merchandising, and conversion performance
- Plan, create, and publish organic social media content while supporting audience engagement, collaborations, and affiliate relationships
- Develop paid social ad campaigns from concept through execution, including content planning, photography and videography, visual editing, copywriting, and ongoing testing and performance monitoring
- Use website, advertising, marketplace, and social media analytics to identify meaningful trends and recommend practical next steps
- Manage and optimize Amazon advertising and marketplace content through keyword research, listing updates, bid adjustments, and performance analysis
- Research and test growth opportunities involving additional marketing platforms, sales channels, and geographic markets
- Research customers and markets to identify product line extensions, unmet needs, and potential new product concepts
- Bring this mix of skills to both our in-house brands and client work, adapting to different products, customers, and business goals
- As your skills grow, so will the role—with more responsibility for marketing strategy, budgets, channel priorities, testing plans, and client recommendations.
- **Required Qualifications**
- Located within reasonable commuting distance of San Diego and available for in-person work approximately two to four times per month
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
- Candidates with another degree and relevant marketing experience will also be considered
- Demonstrated interest and practical experience in at least one area of digital marketing, ecommerce, content creation, advertising, social media, or analytics
- Relevant experience may come from employment, internships, freelance work, coursework, student organizations, entrepreneurial activities, or personal projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, audience-appropriate marketing content in each brand’s voice
- Attention to detail and sound judgment, with a commitment to producing and refining written and visual work to a consistently high standard
- Comfort interpreting performance data, identifying meaningful patterns, and using findings to recommend next steps
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects, manage deadlines, and follow through reliably
- Resourceful, adaptable, and eager to learn, with the ability to research unfamiliar topics and tools while asking for guidance when needed
- Comfortable working independently and communicating proactively about progress, questions, and priorities
- **Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with any of the following would be valuable, but none is required to apply:
- Ecommerce or consumer product marketing
- Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms, including product pages, merchandising, or conversion improvements
- Organic social media management, affiliate marketing, or creator collaborations
- Running ads on Meta, TikTok, Google, Amazon, or other relevant paid advertising platforms
- Performance analytics for websites, advertising, marketplaces, or social media
- Photo and video editing and graphic design using Canva, Affinity, Adobe CC, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar content creation tools
- Supporting multiple brands, client accounts, or projects with different audiences and priorities
- **Compensation and Benefits**
- $30–$34 per hour (annualized equivalent of $62,400–$70,720, based on a typical 40-hour workweek)
- Employer-sponsored medical and dental insurance
- 15 paid vacation days, paid sick leave, and 10 paid holidays annually
- 401(k) plan
- In a small business like ours, you’ll see your work put into action and make a meaningful impact. You’ll have room to learn, expand your skills, and take on greater responsibility over time.
- **Schedule and Location**
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a regular 40-hour schedule. The role is performed primarily from home, but candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of San Diego and be available for in-person meetings, content creation, and other hands-on project work approximately two to four times per month. In-person activities will generally be scheduled in advance.
- **How to Apply**
- Please apply through LinkedIn with your résumé. Links to relevant work samples are welcome but not required; professional, freelance, academic, or personal projects all count.
- **Equal Opportunity**
- Innovation Ethos is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law.
