Role purpose

  • Lead and own the eCommerce business across the region by managing two specialist teams: the China Marketplace team (Tmall and future marketplaces) and the APAC Owned Channels & Omni team (brand websites and omni-channel features across APAC markets). Act as the regional bridge to the global / HQ eCommerce Trading team, driving local eCommerce operations, trading performance and commercial growth. Set the regional eCommerce strategy, maximise data capture and achieve budgeted sales and profit targets across all customer-facing digital channels, in line with the brand vision.
  • NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
  • Define and lead the regional eCommerce strategy across China marketplaces and APAC owned channels, in alignment with the global / HQ eCommerce Trading team, and translate it into local trading plans that deliver the annual sales and profit targets.
  • Lead, coach and develop two direct reports — the China Marketplace Manager and the APAC Owned Channels & Omni Manager — setting clear objectives, priorities and accountabilities for each team.
  • Partner with the HQ eCommerce Trading team as the regional counterpart: cascade global trading initiatives, promotional calendars, and assortment strategies into local markets, and feed local market intelligence and performance insights back to HQ.
  • Oversee the China Marketplace business (Tmall and future launched marketplaces), ensuring all customer-facing channels are up to date, relevant and localised, and that in-site operations, newness launches, promotions and consumer experience are executed to standard.
  • Oversee the APAC Owned Channels & Omni business (brand websites and omni-channel features across APAC countries and regions), driving consistent localisation, UX/UI, content, newness and trading performance market by market.
  • Own the full trading and operational rhythm across both teams: sales planning, forecasting, budgeting, promotional planning and in-season trading decisions to maximise data capture and commercial return.
  • Manage all aspects of operational data analytics across the region. Monitor and analyse key business metrics spanning day-to-day operations, merchandising, EC-marketing and omni-channel performance, generating insights for decision making and optimisation.
  • Produce adhoc, daily, weekly and monthly regional trading reports to aid decision making. Consolidate team-level reporting, highlight lessons learnt and identify opportunities to be fed into the planning process.
  • Be the senior point of contact with marketplaces, agencies, TPs and technology partners to secure prioritised exposure, IP collaborations and pilot opportunities, and push strong execution to drive sales.
  • Cooperate with internal merchandising / logistics / after-sales / CRM / marketing teams to align on business objectives and needs across both teams.
  • Be responsible for the user experience on all touchpoints across both teams. Conduct routine site walks, ensuring optimum levels of functionality and that information and content is accurate and relevant to each market.
  • Keep updated with the trends of the ecosystem as well as consumer online behaviour changes, and proactively adapt the regional strategy as the business.
