Technical Shopify/E-Commerce Specialist

This role blends Shopify administration, storefront development coordination, AI-enabled workflow improvement, and hands-on support for the tools that power our customer experience.

• **What you’ll do**
• Manage Shopify store operations, including products, collections, pricing, promotions, inventory visibility, navigation, and storefront content.
• Support the client-facing product customizer, ensuring its Shopify integration, customer flow, and related settings work as expected.
• Maintain and update Shopify theme code when needed, including basic Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript changes.
• Work with GitHub to review changes, manage code updates, document fixes, and coordinate releases.
• Help deploy and maintain customizer-related services hosted through Cloudflare.
• Use Shopify development tools and APIs to troubleshoot integrations, product data, cart behavior, orders, and customizer workflows.
• Monitor and investigate issues involving storefront behavior, API requests, integrations, and customer-facing tools.
• Use AI tools to assist with documentation, troubleshooting, testing, product content, support drafts, reporting, and workflow automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce manual work, and make the customizer experience clearer for customers.
• Document technical processes, release steps, recurring issues, system dependencies, and access requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, outside developers, or vendors when an issue requires deeper technical work.
• **Technology stack**
• The role will work with a practical e-commerce and web-development stack that includes:
• **Shopify:** Shopify Admin, Shopify Partner/Developer tools, products and variants, collections, cart and checkout behavior, storefront configuration, and app integrations.
• **Shopify theme development:** Liquid, JSON templates, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, theme settings, sections, snippets, and storefront customization.
• **Client-facing customizer:** A custom product-customization experience integrated with the Shopify storefront and product/order flow.
• **Cloudflare:** Hosting and deployment for proprietary tools/services, plus familiarity with DNS, caching, environment configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
• **GitHub:** Source control, branches, pull requests, code review, release coordination, issue tracking, and project documentation.
• **APIs and integrations:** Calling, testing, and troubleshooting APIs; working with request/response data, authentication, webhooks, and integrations between Shopify and custom services.
• **AI tools:** ChatGPT or comparable tools for creating documentation, analyzing issues, drafting tests, generating implementation ideas, improving support workflows, and accelerating routine technical work.
• **You might be a great fit if you**
• Have worked in Shopify or a comparable e-commerce platform
• Write clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and are comfortable in Git/GitHub
• Can read an API response, find what’s wrong, and explain it plainly
• Treat production changes, credentials, and customer data with care
• Write clearly and document as you go
• Use AI tools as a practical work partner and check their work
• Like figuring things out and don’t need someone to hand you every answer
• **Bonus points:** Liquid, Shopify Admin or Storefront APIs, webhooks, Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, DNS), product customizers or configurators, or a connection to boating or apparel.
