What is an AI shopping agent?
An AI shopping agent acts for a buyer. It takes a request in plain language, searches and compares products across stores, and in some cases places the order. That separates it from a store's own chatbot, which works for the merchant, and from a coupon extension, which applies codes but does not search or buy.
Some are standalone products. Others are shopping features inside general assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. Where an agent completes checkout, it passes the order and payment to the merchant, either through the merchant's own checkout or through a protocol built for agents, such as ACP or UCP.

Where listings come from
Candidates come from vendor sites, published lists of shopping agents and submissions. A candidate is a lead; nothing is listed from it alone.
How each one is checked
We load the product's website, read the product page, and search the web and news for launches, shutdowns, renames and checkout announcements. A language model extracts the facts from that evidence only, and the sources are kept for review. Last full check: Sept 2026.
What gets listed
Products that act for a shopper: dedicated shopping agents, named shopping features inside AI assistants and AI browsers, and retailers' own shopping assistants. They must be live, not only announced or discontinued.
What the facts mean
Checkout, autonomy and payment are recorded only where the vendor or dated reporting states them. “Not stated” means the sources checked do not say. We do not test the agents, and nothing here is a rating.
What is not listed
